In May 2014, the Basel Derbygirl Kollektiv met for the first time, determined to bring roller derby to Basel - and, in true Derby-spirit, we've done it all ourselves: training, coaching, promotion, and management. Since those early days, we have grown to 25 members and counting, and are proud to be a truly diverse and multicultural team, welcoming players of all genders, races, age, sexuality and skill.

Our newbie course is the perfect introduction to roller derby! Our coaches will teach you the basics of skating and you will learn the rules of the game. No previous sporting experience is required. Roller skates and pads can be borrowed from the club.

WHAT IS ROLLER DERBY?❤️🔥
Roller derby is a team sport and is played on roller skates on an oval playing field. Derby is a full contact sport.
In Switzerland, roller derby is played exclusively as an adult sport and is open to beginners.
WHO ARE THE RHINE REBELS?💛🖤
We are a self-organized roller derby team from Basel. We want to challenge ourselves and have fun at the same time. With roller derby, we try to create a safe, inclusive and empowering space in which we keep ourselves and the world around us in motion.
The Rhine Rebels are a FINTA team (female, inter, non-binary, trans, agender)
