In May 2014, the Basel Derbygirl Kollektiv met for the first time, determined to bring roller derby to Basel - and, in true Derby-spirit, we've done it all ourselves: training, coaching, promotion, and management. Since those early days, we have grown to 25 members and counting, and are proud to be a truly diverse and multicultural team, welcoming players of all genders, races, age, sexuality and skill.

WHAT THE **** IS ROLLER DERBY?
Speed. Stamina. Toughness. Adrenaline. Sweat, bruises, sometimes tears. Respect, communication, support and, above all: Team spirit and a lot of fun. Roller Derby is a full-contact sport played on an oval track on quad-skates - think rugby without the ball. Still confused? Watch the video below 😉
